Family Drive Inn Route 11 Yard Crawl

Family Drive In Yard Crawl offers hidden treasures Saturday, August 10, when the Shenandoah Valley becomes 43 miles of yard sale finds.

Family Drive In Yard Crawl

This year marks the Route 11 Yard Crawl’s 15th anniversary. Virginia’s largest yard sale is held the second Saturday in August, from New Market to Stephens City – home of the Family Drive In Theatre.

Family Drive In welcomes both buyers and sellers. Need to declutter and downsize? Then take advantage of a 20’x20′ space for only $20. Bring your own tables, chairs and tailgate tent. Buyers admitted for free. Click here to read more about last year’s Crawl along with some timely shopping tips.

Family Drive In

Family Drive In Yard CrawlThe Family Drive In Theatre is more than just a place to have a swap meet. It’s living history. The drive in just celebrated its 63rd anniversary and is one of the few remaining outdoor theaters in the country. From now through Labor Day weekend, Family Drive In shows first run double features nightly on state of the art screens, so you’ll see two movies for the price of one! Besides the Route 11 Yard Crawl, Family Drive In also hosts community events like the popular Halloween Trunk or Treat.

More Yard Crawl Adventure

Family Drive In Yard CrawlOf course, all along Route 11 in the Shenandoah Valley you’ll find individuals turning their lawns into front yard emporiums. And businesses will be transforming towns into sidewalk sales. But if you want to be a part of the selling and don’t live on the Crawl, take a space at a stop like the Family Drive In. The Shenandoah County Chamber of Commerce lists rental space locations on its website. And you’ll also see where you can buy an anniversary T shirt.

The Route 11 Yard Crawl will be held over two days this year, August 9 & 10. The Crawl is a partnership between the Town of Stephens City, the Town of Edinburg, the Shenandoah County Chamber of Commerce and the Shenandoah County Tourism Office.

Serious yard sale junkies will want to come out early and make it a weekend in the Blue Ridge. You’ll find accommodations, dining options, and other activities at Go Blue Ridge Travel.
