We know you’ve been searching for things to do this Halloween season besides just taking the kids trick-or-treating around the block.  To save you some time, we have compiled a list of what’s going on in the area just for you! Take a look at all of the events and activities happening soon that can spice up your Halloween.

For mom, dad, and the adult friends – need a night out? Halloween is always about getting your kids the perfect costume and making sure their night of trick-or-treating is exciting Halloween | Beer |Pumpkinand candy-filled.  But you deserve to share in the spooky fun that this holiday brings! This year’s Halloween is particularly tailored to the adults because it’s on a Monday, meaning the whole weekend beforehand is full of things for you to do with your friends!

Starting on Thursday, October 27th, Magnolias at the Mill is hosting their Great Pumpkin Beer Dinner. The event starts at 7:00 pm, and if you’re interested, don’t forget to reserve your spot by buying your ticket online.  The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown is for kids, but this Great Pumpkin Beer Dinner is for you, the adults! You’re invited to try this season’s harvest of pumpkin beers that will be paired with Chef Erik’s favorite foods. Overall, you’ll be getting a six course meal, and a fabulous evening!

The Bright Box Theater is excited to put on the Paranormal Halloween Party, which will be Halloween | Paranormal | Bright Box Theaterhosted by Ghost Tours of Old Town Winchester.  This event features dinner, dessert, and a variety of other “tricks & treats” throughout the evening, and it all starts at 6:00 pm on Saturday, October 29th.  One of those “treats” will be the paranormal investigation of the Bright Box and Bright Center’s most haunted spots, which you can participate in using real ghost hunting equipment. Come be spooked and find out how haunted Old Town Winchester really is!

Have you already picked out a costume that you just know is the best one of them all? But are you still trying to figure out where you’ll be able to show it off?  Massanutten Resort is throwing an awesome Halloween bash called Thrill on the Hill! Only for those 21+, there will be a DJ, food, and a full-service bar.  Of course, there will be a costume contest, and the prizes are HUGE! The bash goes from 8 pm-12 am, and tickets are $5 at the door.

There’s tons of fun to be had for the adults, but for those of you who want to have some family fun too, here’s what’s going on:

Bryce Resort is having a Haunted Mini Golf & Trunk or Treat on Sunday, October 30th! It starts at 6:00 pm, and is free for everyone to attend.  Dress up the kids in their costumes and bring them out to play some mini golf and, of course, get some candy!  Don’t forget to bring candy with you to hand out to the trunk-or-treaters in the Bryce main parking lot. They will have a beverage cart available for kid and adult purchases.

Trunk-or-Treat is a great way for kids to collect candy and make new friends!

If you’re looking for some Halloween excitement during the weekend of October 28th, 29th, and 30th, look no further than the Family Drive-In Theatre. They will be having a Monster-Rama Movie Weekend! Featuring the classic black and white monster movies that were popular back in the day. Those include Bride of Frankenstein” (1925), “Dracula” (orginial-1931), and “Wolfman” (original-1941).

The Family Drive-In is also having their annual Trunk-or-Treat and Costume Event. It is scheduled for Saturday, October 22nd, and the just-in-case rain date is Saturday, October 29th.  From 3-7 pm, you’re invited to come dressed in costume and celebrate Halloween with activities like the bounce house, face painting, a magician, haunted trail, and costume contest! Decorate your car and the kids will have a wonderful time trunk-or-treating from trunk to trunk! Please make sure to bring enough candy for about 500 children if you are participating. Halloween | Pumpkin | Back Home on the Farm

The farm is ready for you to come pick and paint pumpkins!

Head to Back Home on the Farm where all of the Halloween activities your kids will want to do are in one place!  On Halloween Day there will be the Great Pumpkin Party at the farm.  Kids can go trick-or-treating, paint pumpkins, play games, smash pumpkins, and enjoy delicious fall treats. It is open to all, and is on the last day of their fall season, so you don’t want to miss it!

Here is something unique and adventurous for those who are brave – the Zombie Hunt at Skyline Paintball & Laser Tag!  The hunt will occur on October 21st, 22nd, 28th, and 29th, so you have several opportunities to get out there and enjoy the fun.  Take a ride through the haunted trail on a battle trailer that is equipped with mounted paintball guns.  As you ride, you will be hunting the zombies as they come towards you out of the dark woods! All of the equipment is provided, and a waiver must be completed for each player. It is $12 per person.
