With Thanksgiving soon behind us, it’s time to start – or in some cases finish – prepping for Christmas. What better way to get into the Holiday spirit then to watch it come marching down your street? If Christmas parades are what your heart desires, then you’ve come to the right place!
Holiday Parade – Harrisonburg, VA
The first day of the month of December will feature a “Ringing in the Holidays” themed parade that begins at the Rockingham County Office building and stretches south on Main Street. Make sure to get there prior to the 7:00pm starting time and stay after it’s over for a follow up tree lighting ceremony in Court Square and a holiday concert performed by the county’s own JMU Marching Royal Dukes! Hometown Holiday Parade – Front Royal, VA
Just a day later and many miles over will be the town of Front Royal’s Hometown Holiday Parade. Starting at 4:00 pm and ending at 6:00, Front Royal invites all to “come enjoy Front Royal’s traditional Christmas parade,” which will be presented by the Chamber of Commerce. Christmas Parade – Luray, VA
The beautiful county of Luray will be hosting their parade on Saturday, December 6th. The event is completely free to the public and will include cash prizes, Christmas carols, refreshments, and live music from Left of the Dial, the Eva Weber Group, and Patsy’s Pans. As a side note, they Luray Town Council Float will be tossing out 100 full-sized candy bars with golden tickets wrapped around them – what will your ticket be worth? Check out the details here.
Christmas in Middleburg – Middleburg, VA
This will definitely be the place to be starting early December! Boasting a tree lighting, Christmas parade, shopping experience, caroling, and so much more, the town of Middleburg truly comes alive in the month of December.
