The Shepherdstown Street Fest takes pride in the local artisans, vendors, and talented bands that attend the festival, drawing crowds by the masses. This year, with the festival closely approaching on Saturday, Shepherdstown has expanded the opportunity for the talented bands by bringing in two stages. With double stages, audiences won’t have an intermission or wait for the next band so set up. Festival attendees can enjoy music, without interruption, through the duration of the day.
Not only are the bands local, they perform all original music and some covers of famous songs. Each unique with different styles, the 2016 Shepherdstown Street Fest hosts all kinds of music genres. From folk to indie, country to rock, this festival has something for every music lover.
Headliner Christian Lopez Band of Martinsburg, WV, fully embodies the soul of a traditional Appalachian folk band. Not even 21 years old, the young folk-rock artist and his band have received raving reviews from Rolling Stone, announcing the CLB as “Best Newcomer” at the Americana Music Fest of 2015. Grammy Award-winner Paul Cobb worked with Christian on his new album Onward and recently exclaimed, “I love working with Christian, he’s such a talent and completely natural. He has a bit of Paul Simon in him.” The Christian Lopez Band is currently on tour and hopes to bring their harmonious folk-rock sound and original songs to the Shepherdstown Street Fest.
Chamomile & Whiskey, from Nelson County, open the Shepherdstown Street Fest on the Main Stage. C&W takes pride in their high energy and passionate performances, leaving fans and listeners wanting more.
