It’s hard to deliver entertainment that extends to all members of the family, but the crew at Shenandoah Valley Music Festival have succeeded in just that. When you attend their upcoming Wayback Weekend (July 21-22), you’ll see that there’s something for everyone, even the kids!

This July, something important is happening at Shenandoah Valley Music Fest! SVMF is preparing for their Wayback Weekend including a stellar line-up featuring Arlo Guthrie and the Piedmont Symphony Orchestra! While it’s true that the concerts are nighttime entertainment, there are tons of awesome things to do during the day.

Pack a Lunch!

One of the great things about SVMF is that they aren’t going to force you to buy from their vendors. That means no exorbitantly priced drpicnic basket inks and no having to worry about food allergies. Your family is more than welcome to pack their own cooler of customized beverages and food and enjoy it out on the lawn! Arrive early to grab a good spot! Kids under 18 get in for just a fraction of the cost of general lawn admission seating – $10.00! Even better is that ages under 3 get in for free! Picnicking has never been this easy – or fun! Round up the crew and bring them out for a night of delicious home-cooked food paired with amazing music under the stars.

Experience the Music!

One of the biggest generational gaps occurs in the area of music. Because today’s music has a specific sound profile that attracts a younger audience, a lot of great classics have the tendency to get brushed under the rug. Broaden your kids musical horizons at Shenandoah Valley Music Festival, which provides the perfect chance for all generations to be exposed to the best of the best in bluegrass, country, classical music, and rock n’ roll. Aside from the opening weekend lineup you can look forward to Pure Prairie League, Poco, The HillBenders, Seldom Scene, Midtown Men, and Emmylou Harris on the following weekends. The Bluegrass Minifest, a musical experience of ironically great proportions, is also included on the last weekend of Shenandoah Valley Music Festival. Balsam Range, Band of Ruhks, and After Jack will have you up and dancing all night long!

Extend your stay at Shrine Mont!

If you’re visiting from the metropolitan area or even just a few doors down, we highly encourage you and your family to check out the package deals SVMF has to offer. For those with a long drive back home after concert hours, an extended stay at Shrine Mont will serve as a blessing in disguise – especially when you realize all of the amenities it has to offer! Inclusive with pool, tennis courts, 3 hot meals a day, and set in beautiful Orkney Springs, VA, there is no better setting for weekend concerts and family activities.  Check out SVMF’s promo, below, for a full walkthrough of what’s included in your package!

This is hands-down the best way to enjoy awesome music and your own favorite foods, all while providing entertainment for the entire family. Make sure to come out for SVMF’s Wayback Weekend for a taste of future weekends to come! You can purchase tickets here.
