The long weekend is upon us! Read on for Memorial Day weekend hotspots and events you won’t want to miss.
Start early – Thursday May 25th
When planning your schedule, we suggest starting at The Family Drive-In Theatre first. These action-packed premiers are the best way to kick-start your Memorial Day Weekend and relax. With ticket prices set at $7 per movie, this deal will leave you with plenty of cash to enjoy festivities over the weekend, too! Movies start at 7:00pm and end at 9:00pm. Zip lining, Hiking, and Biking – All weekend
Bryce Resort has one thing over many other places, and that’s their zip line! Every weekend from 10am-5pm, Bryce opens their Bike Park and Zip Line for visitors to enjoy. Their Bike Park is custom-designed to be suitable for all levels of bikers, ranging from beginner to advanced, and features some paths that are over 2 miles long! For the truly adventurous, Bryce’s zip line gives you the chance to fly through the mountain treetops at over 40 miles per hour and 90 feet off the ground! The entire tour can take up to 2 hours to complete, ensuring that you get your fill of adrenaline!
Stop by a local Farm for Fresh Produce – All Weekend
This warmer weather provides the perfect time to pick up fresh produce. Mackintosh Fruit Farm offers you the chance to pick strawberries straight from the vines (or “forbs” if you want to get technical). If you were looking for something more family-fun related, a farm is the destination you want! For fresh beef, check out Audley Farm. For fresh flowers and furry farm animals, we’ll direct you to Back Home on the Farm! Once you’ve had your fun on the farms, head home and cookout with the fresh, local produce!
The Shenandoah Valley has everything to offer, no matter what you’re into. We have rivers, music, beer and wine venues, and beautiful farms all engulfed by a mountain backdrop. Whether you’re a single, couple, or family unit, there’s something for everyone.
Have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!
