Cinema can be such an influencing factor in a child’s life. Movies help build your kid’s curiosity about the world around them and shape their dialogue, which is why it’s so important that they’re watching the right things. The Alamo’s Kids Camp line-up of movies provides a wholesome and entertaining experience, leaving you stress free and the kids happy. Wizards, talking animals, and a sea sponge come together this summer to give kids a fun experience that will stay with them for many years to come.
Start your Kids Trail agenda this summer at the Alamo Drafthouse! Beginning on May 26th, the Alamo Drafthouse in Winchester will be hosting their annual Summer Kids Camp! With 12 fun-packed, kid-friendly films, the Camp is guaranteed to get your kids off the video games and into the complete cinema experience. They’ll be begging to go back to see the next movie! Another great feature, and one that the Alamo Drafthouse does well, is the amazing food you can order during the film. Choose from a wide array of burgers, fries, soda, popcorn, and pizza (we recommend trying their Thai chicken pizza, it is to die for)! This is a ‘Drafthouse’ after all, so mom can enjoy a tasty ‘mommy mimosa’ and dad can go ahead and order a refreshing beer.
Right off the bat, the Alamo’s summer kids camp provides you with a way to give back. Ticket pricing ranges from $1 – $5, and all proceeds go to Henry & William Evans Home for Children, Inc. and Bright Futures of Frederick-Winchester.
We’ve got a full tentative schedule of the movies and their order, listed below. Click on any title for a summary plot, date, and times. Movies will be held every Friday at 10:30am until the last showing on August 17th.
A small but important side note: Handley Regional Library will have a presence at the screenings with handouts for fun summer reading ideas and lists! Don’t miss it! Bucket the snail will see you there!
