Root to Table | Taste of Blue Ridge Culinary Series 

Foodie | Go Blue Ridge TravelThis is going to be an awesome culmination of local chefs all coming together to cook their favorite dishes and serve them to you! Like the first installment of Taste of Blue Ridge’s Root to Table in August, we’ll be featuring Chef Erik of Magnolias at the Mill Restaurant, with the event being held there, too! If you’ve never stopped to dine at this rustic location, here’s a super exclusive chance! The theme for this event is Seafood and Ciders.  Hillbrook Inn and Spa is offering a two night package with transportation to the event. Tickets go on sale next week. Limited seating  – invite a couple and plan for a fun weekend combining food, spa, perhaps a rafting or hiking trip in between. SAVE THE DATE – November 3rd.

Magnolias at the Mill

Aside from being the host of Go Blue Ridge Travel’s second Root to Table series, Magnolias will be hosting Virginia Spirits Month Luncheon on September 30th and their official Great PuMagnolias at the Mill mpkin Beer Dinner on October 19th! The first features a unique Virginia distillery and two local farmers, growers, and producers, where they’ll discuss what makes their products so special. The latter features a classic take on the previous years’ where they’ll be showcasing 8 fabulous beers from across the country, where you can drink, socialize, and drink some more on Magnolias’ luxurious heated patio! Nibblins

This one’s fast approachomemade candyhing but there’s still time to grab tickets: Apple Harvest on September 28th. Join Nibblins for a night of interactive cooking using the Valley’s favorite fruit: apples! You’ll learn to make a beautiful dinner and dessert! Then after that, join Nibblins on October 22 for a candy making class, which is perfect because it gives you a week of prep time to make your own candy to pass out to the trick ‘r’ treaters! L’auberge Provencale

Fall festivities begin on September 28th at L’auberge Provencale B&B with their Fall Wine Dinner! The event sounds absolutely amazing: “Enjoy a delectable meal paired with wines from South Africa’s Keermont Vineyards, along with a presentation from winemaker Alex Starey and Fran Kysela from Kysela Pere et Fils Importers.” Okay, if that doesn’t grab your attention, then nothing will. This event will be followed by their 6th Annual Linden and RdV Vineyard Dinner on November 12th, where you’ll get to meet and greet winemakers Jim Law and Rutger de Vink! Alesatian Brewing Co.

Alesatian MenuThe best part about stopping by Alesatian for a beer is the consistency – on alternating Wednesdays you can expect either trivia night (no explanation needed), or vinyl night where B.Y.O.V. (bring your own vinyl) rules. Alesatian recognizes that Saturday mornings should be slow, so they offer brunch with beer, a great option for those in need of the hair of the dog that bit them on Friday night, or for those who just like to sleep in!
