Pick a vegetable or protein your kids love. Find a recipe. then take a trip to a you-pick farm like MacKintosh Fruit Farm or a local farmers market. Pick up your ingredients. Come home and enjoy making the recipe as a family. Kick it up a notch and let one child take the video of the experience. It is easy also to make a movie trailer particularly on an Ipad.

Dairy Farm Experience | Go Blue Ridge Travel

Mt Crawford Creamery – A small family dairy farm just outside of Harrisonburg. They bottle their own milk products. They use only milk from their small herd of Holstein and Jersey cows. Families may come every day at 4pm. FREE admission.  Watch the cows being milked in the dairy barn and may also see, pet the baby calves, and see inside the processing plant. Taste old fashioned buttermilk with chunks of real butter.  The chocolate milk cannot be beat.

Midland, Virginia

Cows N Corn –  Just about an hour from Northern Virginia you can be riding a hay wagon around the farm and learning first hand about cow life from baby calves to the adult cows.  We are proud to show you our farm and share our daily life in Fauquier County, Virginia.
