We recently posted a blog about some of the best Christmas parades happening in the upcoming weeks, and if you missed it, you can check it out here. Now we’re back to tell you about another wonderful Christmas festivity you don’t want to miss – Christmas in Middleburg! This is likely to be one of the most festive, exciting, special, happy, one-of-a-kind, events you will attend this holiday season. Thousands of people gather in Middleburg, Virginia, each year for this incredible event, and it’s all to celebrate the light and the joy of the holidays!
It all begins this Friday, December 2nd, at 5:00 pm. At 12 North Madison Street, there will be carols to accompany the lighting of the Christmas tree! There will also be hot chocolate and cider, courtesy of the Home Farm Store, to keep you warm.
Kick off the fun on Saturday with breakfast with Santa and a silent auction! That all starts at 8:00 am at the Middleburg Charter School. Additionally, from 9 am-5 pm, there will be a craft fair at the Middleburg Community Center. You definitely want to check this out, and bring some money to buy very unique and beautiful gifts from the vendors!
At 11:00 am, the Middleburg Hunt & Hounds Review begins, as the mounted foxhunt riders and hounds come down the main Washington Street. Then, at 2:00 pm, is the big Christmas parade! Some of those you’ll see featured in the parade include animal affinity groups (corgi owners, llama owners, etc.), scout groups, business floats, Civil War and several other reenactment bands, high school bands, and of course, Santa!
On Sunday, December 4th, you can enjoy the 100-year old tradition of the Live Animal Christmas Pageant at Foxcroft School, starting at 2 pm.
There is plenty more to enjoy, and for the full schedule of events, you can click here.

The best part is that Middleburg is only 45 minutes from D.C. It’s even not too far from Winchester, VA, Frederick, MD, and Baltimore, MD.
