St. Patrick’s Day is just days away! Known as a holiday passively celebrated by wearing green, we challenge you to get more involved in this year’s festivities!
Cook With the Best
Beautifully situated near Skyline Drive, L’auberge Provencale is a beautiful bed & breakfast boasting a fantastic dining area, engaging cooking classes with professional chefs, and a home-like experience when you stay the night. Now available Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays are behind the scenes cooking classes with expert Chef Steven Ferell! Alongside the wonderful cooking classes is L’auberge’s March Madness special which allows you to stay a 3rd night free when you book 2 nights. Since St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Friday this year, a cooking class followed by a long weekend stay is highly recommended!
Magnolias earns an A+ for thinking outside of the box with their St. Patrick’s Day Dinner for 4 To-Go! Exclusively available on March 17th, you can order the mouthwatering selection: slow cooked strip loin corned beef, poached cabbage, carrot hash, boiled red potatoes, soda bread, and whoopee pies! The beauty of this arrangement is that no one has to know it’s just you and your cat woofing down portion sizes meant for an entire family!
What’s more Irish than beer? Well, lots of things, actually… nevertheless, Nibblins will be hosting a cooking class on Friday the 17th labeled ‘All About the Beer’. Come relax and enjoy the company of Chef Maggie Costello of Basil Kitchen as she demonstrates all the different ways beer can be used in cooking. On the menu: beer battered onion rings, bratwurst & beer potato soup, and Guinness cupcakes with ganache and pretzels! Conveniently located in Winchester, this Nibblins cooking class would be incredibly fun to experience with friends!
Places to Flaunt Your Green!
Sure to be a big hit with families throughout our region is the Family Drive In’s Beauty and the Beast Ball, which will be held on Friday the 17th – St. Patrick’s Day! Although Friday and Saturday are sold out, Sunday is still available for those looking to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day throughout the weekend! So deck the kids out in “Kiss me, I’m Irish” gear, grab a few Guinness’s for adult members of the family, and enjoy a reinvented classic that is impressively holding its own with critics everywhere.
Search for your own four-leaf clovers on a beautiful weekend hike!
If you’ve got the urge to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day outdoors, you’ve come to the right place! The Shenandoah Valley offers an extensive supply of scenic mountain views to explore, including but not limited to: Harpers Ferry, WV, trails in Woodstock, VA for the Tower view, and Bryce Resort and Massanutten Resort pathways in VA. (link to all or link to one?) While you’re out and about becoming one with nature and sweating like a leprechaun searching for his pot of gold, try and find your own four-leaf clover!
