Hi, Bucket here! Each week, I’ll be telling you about local fun activities you can do here in the Shenandoah Valley with your family. I call it my “Bucket List”! Also, this summer I have a cool game you can play and win prizes, called Bucket’s Buddy Game. If you’d like to learn more about that, just click here!
So what’s going on for this week? Well, to start off, there’s the Butterfly House at Back Home on the Farm! It opens this Saturday, June 17. It’s my featured event for this week. I definitely recommend checking it out! It also happens to be the first stop on Get Out and Play in the ‘Burg, so it’s a great way for you to participate in my game too!
Next up is The Family Drive-In’s 61st Anniversary celebration. On Friday, June 16th and Saturday, June 17th, they’ll be showing Disney’s Cars 3. Opening time is 6 pm and tickets sometimes sell out, so make sure you move faster than a snail to get there!
Friday night will be Clarke County Parks and Recreation night. Lots of prizes and fun!
If you prefer an indoor movie theater, then my next recommendation is The Alamo Drafthouse’s Kid’s Camp. From June 16 – 22, they are showing The Peanuts Movie. All ticket sales go to benefit the Evans Home for Children and Bright Futures and the amount you pay is up to you! Pretty cool deal and cause if you ask me!
Not in the mood to watch a movie this weekend? No problem! At Massaunutten Resort, there will be an Adult-Child Golf Tournament for Father’s Day! It’s open to anyone, so make sure to stop by and put your swing to the test on June 18th, from tee time until 4 pm!
Finally, if you love stories like I do, then you’ll love the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley’s Tiny Tales Story Time: Build it! You’ll get to hear stories about building things. I wish I had hands msyelf so I could build something cool, but I guess a building story is the next best thing!
Whatever you decide to do this week, I hope you stay cool. It sure is hot out there, especially for us snails.
Your Adventure Buddy,
