Indoor Activities, Kids Trail, Outdoor Adventure, Shenandoah Valley

Hi, Bucket here! Each week on Thursdays, I’ll be telling you about local fun activities you can do here in the Shenandoah Valley with your family for the upcoming weekend. I call it my “Bucket List”! Also, this summer I have a cool game you can play and win prizes, called Bucket’s Buddy Game. If you’d like to learn more about that, just click here!

So what’s going on for the week of 6/22 – 6/28? Read on below to find out!

Explore More Discovery Museum | Down on the Farm DayFirst up, for the main featured event this weekend, there is Explore More Discovery Museum’s Down on the Farm Day. It will be this Saturday, June 24th, from 9:30 am – 1:00 pm. The event has free admission to the museum as well as outdoor activities, which will include a live cow and her calf, dairy trivia with prizes, farm crafts, large farm equipment, and the chance to make your own cheese and butter! I will also be there this Saturday at a booth, so come say hi to have your picture taken with me and the Kid’s Trail!

Shepherdstown Street FestAlso on this Saturday is another outdoor event. Shepherdstown, WV will host its annual Shepherdstown Street Fest from 10 am – 8:30 pm. It also has free admission and is an event meant to be enjoyed by everyone! There will be a ton of local musicians, artists, restaurants, retail shops, and kid-friendly activities for you and your family to check out.

Bryce Resort | Junior Golf CampIf you and you’re family are more into playing a sport together, look no further than Bryce Resort’s Summer Camps! Their first camp will be Junior Golf, which runs from June 26th – 30th, from 8:30 am – 11:30 am each day. It’s ideal for ages 6-17. Make sure to check out the link for registration and fee information!

Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre | Oklahoma!Starting today, the Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre opens with its first musical of the season, Oklahoma!  As for the story, read the excerpt here:

“A high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys in a turn-of-the-century territory makes a colorful setting for the romance between the handsome cowboy, Curly, and the winsome farm girl, Laurey. The road to true love never runs smooth, and with these two headstrong romantics holding the reins, love’s journey is as bumpy as a surrey ride down a country road.”

It’s a great way to spend the day indoors with your family. Make sure to click on our link for ticket info!

The Greene TurtleFinally, The Greene Turtle has a great deal right now. If you and your family are hungry, make sure to head over every Tuesday this summer for a free kid’s meal! (You must purchase an adult entree and it cannot be combined with other offers). For more information, just click on this link here.
