Shenandoah Valley Music Festival

Begins: Jul 20
Ends: Sep 02

Shenandoah Valley Music Festival is in its 55th year of bringing great music to the Valley! Our concert series runs from July 20-Sept. 2. Come see The Temptations, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Home Free, Kenny G and more!

Each summer the festival presents a series of concerts featuring the best artists in country, bluegrass, pop, rock, folk, Americana and classical music.

Coming to the Festival stage this summer The Temptations, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Home Free and Kenny G. Additionally, the Piedmont Symphony Orchestra will perform the Music of Pink Floyd, with a rock band backed by a full orchestra, and a symphonic program that will feature classical works including "Appalachian Spring" and the New World Symphony. Both concerts will include special video and lighting effects for an enhanced musical-multimedia experience.

The Bluegrass Minifest will feature headliner and master fiddler Michael Cleveland with his band Flamekeeper, monster mandolinist Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen and progressive bluegrassers Circus No. 9.

Check out the full concert schedule here.

Concerts take place at Shrine Mont, a beautiful retreat and conference center and historic landmark, located in beautiful Orkney Springs, Va.  Situated at the foot of Great North Mountain, our outdoor venue provides a stunning backdrop for concerts, and its modest size allows for great views of the stage from both the pavilion and lawn seating areas.

Lawn seating requires that you bring your own chairs and/or blankets. Food, coolers and adult beverages are permitted on the lawn, and picnic dinners are encouraged!

Picnicking on the lawn with family and friends before each concert has been one of SVMF's longstanding traditions. Some patrons bring an elaborate food spread and adorn their picnic tables with fancy tablecloths and flowers. It's a great way to catch up with old friends or make new ones!

Don't want to drive home after the concert? Stay overnight at Shrine Mont and get discounts on concert tickets, lodging and meals with our Music Lovers Weekend Getaway Package.  Enjoy our concerts in the evening and visit nearby attractions during the day, including local caverns, Civil War battlefields, vineyards, craft breweries and a nearby resort with a golf course and lake with a beach and boat rentals. Those who purchase our package deals will be eligible to receive discounted tickets for a Winery/Brewery tour on  the Saturday afternoon of each concert weekend.  A luxury van will pick up participants at Shrine Mont and take them to two wineries, a farm brewery and Route 11 Potato Chip factory.

Come on out this summer to relax and enjoy beautiful music under the stars at the Shenandoah Valley Music Festival!
