Museum of the Shenandoah Valley

A regional cultural center, the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley (MSV) includes galleries and exhibitions, seven acres of gardens, and the Glen Burnie House. Galleries feature permanent collections of fine and decorative arts, changing exhibitions, displays that detail the Valley’s history, and an impressive collection of miniature houses. Fun, family-focused events are offered, too!

When to visit

The MSV site is open Tuesday through Sunday.

The Museum Galleries and Museum Store are open year-round; the House and Gardens are open seasonally from April through December.

  • January through March: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • April through December: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Extended Wednesday summer hours: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. between Memorial Day and Labor Day (Wednesdays only).
  • Please note: some MSV programs and workshops begin prior to public visiting hours.

Adult: $10
Seniors: $8
Youth (13–18): $8
Ages 12 & under: Free
MSV Members: Free

Free Wednesday Admission:
Note: MSV admission is always free to ages 12 & under. On Wednesdays, individual and family admission fees are waived thanks to the generosity of corporate sponsor Howard Shockey & Sons, Inc. (Please make a reservation for groups of 10 or more *Group admission fee still apply*)
