Does your family love food? Then what about a fun 72 hour trip to explore Shenandoah Valley’s Culinary Trip. This summer we had a family of four explore Harrisonburg, Virginia and test out our family food trip. This plan is designed for children from 3 – 17 years old. Share this plan with your friends!
Our trip for Carrie Robinson from Frugal Foodie Mama began on Friday evening. Carrie, her husband, seventeen year old son and three year old daughter visited us in June as a guest blogger for Trekaroo’s Shenandoah Valley campaign. For Carrie, the lodging choice was Massanutten Resort.
If your children have age differences in between the food experiences enjoy A Dream Come True Playground or the James Madison Arboretum. The children's museum, Explore More Discovery is excellent.
From First Nights, Farmers Markets, Food Trucks, to wrapping the first day up with cow milking at Mt Crawford Creamery, you will learn all about Harrisonburg and its passion for food. Then back to Massanutten for a fine dining experience at Campfire Grill.
The second day can begin with a farm experience at Back Home on the Farm. Lunch at Bella Luna Woodfire Pizza is a great place for lunch. For Carrie, her kids got to make their own pizzas. A new crop one sees in Virginia is hops and Three Brothers Craft Brewery is a must. Ice Cream anyone - Kline's Dairy Bar is a Harrisonburg tradition for families.
Finally, after a full day, it was back to Massanutten for their WaterPark.
