Barns of Rose Hill is a vibrant 501(c)(3) nonprofit performing arts venue and community center located in historic downtown Berryville, Virginia. Our venue was formerly two historic dairy barns from the early 20th century that have been respectfully restored and renovated in 2011 into one unique building with superb acoustic engineering and modern amenities. Our busy year-round schedule of diverse events and programs attracts nearly 5,000 visitors each year.
Our mission is to enrich lives through programs in the performing, visual, and literary arts. To fulfill our mission, we offer a diverse variety of free and affordable programs throughout the year for people of all ages. Our programs include concerts, exhibits, films, workshops and classes, weekly jams, community programs, and more.
Barns of Rose Hill officially opened in September 2011 after a group of dedicated volunteers successfully raised the funds needed to respectfully restore and renovate two early 20th century barn structures that were left to the Town of Berryville in 1964 by Horace G. Smithy as part of the “Rose Hill” estate in honor of his late wife, Rosalie McCormick Smithy.
Barns of Rose Hill offers an ideal setting to host your event! We have a variety of unique spaces available to rent by individuals, corporations, and nonprofit organizations for wedding ceremonies, wedding receptions, corporate events, meetings, workshops, fundraisers, family reunions, celebrations, holiday parties, and more.
