The Rotary Club of Winchester's 42nd Shenandoah Valley Apple Harvest Festival will be held Saturday, September 16th & Sunday September 17th at the Frederick County Fairgrounds (just north of Winchester on Rt. 11) over a beautiful autumn weekend where this festival is all about the apple!
The event will have an estimated 7,000 people in attendance, enjoying the works of nearly 150 Artisans & Crafters. Items for sale are expected to include fine pencil drawings, hand spun Alpaca wool, hand-made jewelry and hand-blown glass, just to list a few.
The Kids Zone with Inflatables and face painting will be a busy place with members from the John Handley High School Interact Club manning the inflatables for children to play on.
Pickup your free apple at Apple Theme Booth in the Arena, where dozens of varieties of locally grown apples are on display, as well as samples to taste and the best Apple Pie will be judged beginning around 12pm on Saturday. Don't miss the Apple Pie Eating Contest on stage at 2pm on Sunday brought to you by White House/National Fruit Company. Apple Butter making is nearby and almost guaranteed to still be warm!
There will be continuous live music by the Judy Chops, Jimmy Lee and others! For the adults only crowd we will be featuring a Tap & Cork area with craft beers and hard ciders. We are pet friendly so bring out your four-legged best friend to the Blue Ridge Dog Training Agility Course....a want to do or want to watch event! All you Antique Car & Truck Show aficionados drive in and enjoy the festival for only $10. Trophies awarded each day.
