5 Ways to Celebrate “Galentine’s Day”
Go Blue Ridge Travel, Outdoor Adventure, Weddings and Celebrations

Valentine’s Day isn’t only for the loving couples this time of year. Thanks to Leslie Knope from the beloved television show “Parks and Rec” we now have “Galentine’s Day” too! It is basically like Valentine’s Day, only instead of celebrating the love you have for your significant other, you spend it with your best girlfriends. So whether or not you have a “special someone” it is always a good time to celebrate the love you have for your best gals. Here are a few ideas for how to celebrate Galentine’s Day this year.

Have a Spa Day.

There is nothing more refreshing than a day at the spa. Think moisturizing facials, relaxing massages, and perfectly manicured nails. Celebrate with your best friend by booking a day at the spa to totally pamper yourselves. Hillbrook Inn and Spa is one of our favorites with plenty of options for single treatments or spa packages.

Go on an adventure.

For those of you who love adventure, this is a perfect time to try something new with your best friend. Bring your camera and head out to see one of the most beautiful natural wonders at Luray Caverns. A general admission ticket includes the attraction entrance fee and Luray Caverns tour, a self-guided tour of the Car and Carriage Caravan, and the Luray Valley Museum, with tours beginning each day at 9 am.

Host a Brunch.

If you would rather celebrate at home, host a Galentine’s Day-themed brunch. Pick up some organic fruit and vegetables from Stoneybrook Farm, head to the dollar store to buy some fun decorations and, pick up some fresh flowers to set the table. You can even get crafty and set up a scrapbooking kit to capture your favorite memories of your friendship over the years together!

Go on a Shopping Spree.

What better way to celebrate a friendship than a shopping spree? Head to Leesburg Premium Outlets or the charming Creekside Station in Winchester  to pick up a new purse, new pair of shoes, or something that you and your best friend can share.

Toast to Galentine’s Day!

Another fun way to celebrate could be checking out a brewery you haven’t tried before. You and your bestie can enjoy the latest brew while reminiscing on the good times. Check out Backroom Brewery located just outside of Front Royal, VA.  Their beer is made from farm-grown hops and herbs, so give it a try with your best gal, but remember to arrange transportation if you will be drinking.

What are some other ways to celebrate Galentine’s Day? Have you ever celebrated before?
